Homie is an interactive camera designed for children aged 8–10 and their families to help reduce waste at home through play and education.

Children use the camera to capture different types of waste and spot incorrect habits, turning everyday actions into a collaborative game. The system was developed using an Arduino-based camera, a prototyped app, and a website. Photos collected through the app unlock the Homies, illustrated characters living in an interactive world that motivates the whole family. Parents can join the experience via their smartphones. The project also includes original illustrations that define the visual identity and narrative of the Homie world.
